RAWALPINDI: Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in the Shahkash district of Khyber Agency. Intelligence reports suggested the presence of many terrorists in the area upon which the army reacted swiftly.
The operation resulted in the arrest of 3 terrorists and their facilitators having comprehensive criminal records. The operation was led by Major Mian Abdullah Shah who embraced martyrdom. The army is still conducting a clearance operation in the area.
ISPR reported that heavy firing took place during the operation. The media wing appreciated the role of security forces in combating the menace of terrorism. The press release flashed the readiness of the armed forces to combat the threats to the country’s security.
Major Among Two Soldiers Martyred In The Operation
Earlier, an attack took place in the Balor area of Hoshab district in Balochistan where terrorists ambushed a combat patrol of security forces. ISPR reported that two security personnel, including a Major, embraced martyrdom in the attack.
As per the ISPR’s statement, an operation was launched based on reliable intelligence indicating the movement of the terrorist groups. The terrorists were responsible for attacking security forces and civilians, as well as planting explosive devices in the region.
“While [the] establishment of blocking positions to cut the escape routes was underway, a group of terrorists ambushed a patrolling vehicle of security officials and opened fire onto security forces.”
The ISPR reported that the exchange of heavy fire led to the martyrdom of two security personnel including Major Saqib Hussain and Naik Baqir Ali, while other soldiers sustained injuries.
“Security Forces remain determined to thwart such attempts at sabotaging peace, stability, and progress of Balochistan,” the military’s media wing said.
