A Delaware woman increased her bank account by simultaneously claiming two six-figure lottery winnings.
From a gas station close to Newark, Delaware, the woman purchased two tickets for the $100K Ultimate Cash Instant Game. There was a winning ticket among those. Since she started playing the lottery about seven years ago, it was her biggest win.
When the 70-year-old Newark woman visited the lottery’s offices on October 20, she claimed a $100,000 prize from a $100K Ultimate Cash scratch-off ticket she had bought from Speedy Gas in Newark.
Authorities claim that the woman chose to buy three “SERIOUS MONEY” tickets at a gas station in Dover to commemorate her victory.
The woman travelled to Dover, Delaware, with a friend to pick up her winnings from the Delaware Lottery headquarters. She purchased three Serious Money tickets on the way home as a treat. She won $30,000 after another of those tickets turned out to be a winner.
The woman stated in the news release, “My best friend was the first person I told about winning the $100,000 top prize, and she came with me to claim it. “We just sat there in shock when I scratched the $300,000 winning Serious Money ticket later that day. It was completely insane.
According to Delaware Lottery, the two women returned to the lottery headquarters the same day as their second win, bringing their total to $400,000
She intends to save the cash for her retirement.
The Delaware Lottery’s acting director, Helene Keeley, said in the press release, “It’s great to see our players take home six-figure prizes, and Instant Games continue to surprise and delight players throughout the state.”
When he won the lottery twice in the summer, just a few weeks apart from one another, as Insider previously reported, a 43-year-old Delaware man had a similar run of luck earlier this year.
