Bollywood star Shraddha Kapoor faced severe online criticism from social media users after a video of her live singing performance at a recent event went viral.
The video, captured during the opening of Jio World Plaza, shows Shraddha Kapoor taking the stage to showcase her singing talent, inherited from legendary artists Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle. In the performance, Kapoor sang Asha Bhosle’s classic song ‘Aao Huzoor Tumko.’
However, the response from netizens was far from positive, and they didn’t seem to be impressed with her singing skills. A video shared by an Indian tabloid on social media with the caption “Shraddha Kapoor’s voice is a treat” received critical comments.
One Instagram user expressed, “Just because I like her, I can’t tolerate this… her voice is shaking, and the performance is not good. She tried, but she couldn’t sing well.” Another comment read, “She sounds awful! Many ordinary people can sing better than her! Stick to your acting day job (not that you’re good at that either!)”
Some comments took a humorous tone, with one person joking, “When I sing in the shower,” and another stating, “She ruined the song.”
One user sarcastically suggested, “Woah!!! Zabardast!! Ainda mat gaana (never sing again) please.” However, there was also a fan who defended her, saying, “Her voice is not good today, but on other days, she sings well.”
On the professional front, Shraddha Kapoor’s last appearance was in Luv Ranjan’s romantic comedy ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ alongside Ranbir Kapoor. The film received mixed reviews from critics upon its release in March and performed decently at the Box Office. She is now set to appear in a sequel to the horror-comedy ‘Stree.’
