Serena Williams recently shared her social media guidelines for her daughter. The retired tennis legend, who has two daughters—Alexis Jr., 7, and Adira, 13 months—explained that she doesn’t “allow” her older daughter on certain social media platforms.
“It’s a scary world,” Serena remarked during a conversation on the INBOUND podcast, discussing the challenges of raising children in a digital age. She emphasized, “It’s a digital world for kids right now. I’m always involved with my daughter, but we restrict her access to specific platforms.”
Serena, who shares her daughters with husband Alexis Ohanian, expressed concern about what children might encounter online. “With all the information available and the access kids have, you never know what can come their way in an instant,” she noted. She added, “I’m trying to stay positive. We’re aiming to take it slow with her electronics and let her enjoy being a kid for as long as possible.”
