Bollywood luminary Salman Khan’s niece, Alizeh Agnihotri, is poised to make her mark in the film industry with her debut in “Farrey,” scheduled for release on the ZEE5 streaming platform on April 5th.
Zee5 recently shared the exciting news on Instagram, teasing the film’s impending release with the caption, “The race for marks is about to intensify! Stay tuned.”
“Farrey,” a remake of the 2017 Thai hit “Bad Genius,” boasts a star-studded cast including Alizeh Agnihotri alongside Ronit Roy, Sahil Mehta, Zeyn Shaw, Prasanna Bisht, Juhi Babbar, and Shilpa Shukla.
Produced by Salman Khan, Atul Agnihotri, and Alvira Agnihotri, the movie revolves around Niyati Singh, portrayed by Alizeh, a gifted student grappling with financial constraints hindering her educational aspirations. Niyati becomes embroiled in a cheating scheme orchestrated by her affluent peers after securing admission to an elite school on a scholarship.
Directed by Soumendra Padhi, “Farrey” serves as a poignant commentary on the flaws entrenched within India’s education system, spotlighting themes of privilege and disparity in access to opportunities.
Despite its modest box office earnings of INR 22.5 million, “Farrey” propelled Alizeh Agnihotri into the spotlight, clinching her the coveted Best Female Debut award at the 2024 Filmfare Awards.
The film’s accolades extend beyond domestic borders, with a screening at the esteemed 54th International Film Festival of India in Goa, showcasing its global appeal and relevance.
“Farrey” promises to captivate audiences with its compelling narrative, stellar performances, and insightful exploration of societal issues, marking a promising debut for Alizeh Agnihotri and solidifying her position as a rising star in the Indian film industry.
