Nora Fatehi Slaps A Defamation Suit Against Jacqueline Fernandez: ‘She Tried To Harm My Reputation’

Actress Nora Fatehi has filed a defamation case against Jacqueline Fernandez, alleging that the actress made false statements in an effort to ruin her reputation.

They were interrogated in relation to a money laundering case worth Rs 200 crore brought against alleged con artist Sukesh Chandrashekhar.

Fernandez “made defamatory imputations” with the intent to “destroy her career and to further her own interests,” according to Fatehi’s plea.

The plea also aimed to name several media outlets as respondents, in this case, alleging that they had illegally attempted to publish the accused’s defamatory remarks.

According to the report, Fernandez told the appellate tribunal PMLA in writing that the ED had falsely implicated her while celebrities like Nora Fatehi, who had accepted gifts from conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, had been made witnesses.

“Jacqueline Fernandes sought to criminally defame the complainant in order to destroy her career to further her own interests, since they are both working in the same industry and have similar backgrounds, amongst other reasons,” According to her plea.

It claimed that Fatehi had nothing to do with the incident and that Fernandez’s statements were made solely to damage her reputation.

“Jacqueline Fernandez is also an actress and is pretty well known in the film industry. She has also been made an accused in the Sukesh Chandrashekhar Rs 200 crore money-laundering case by the Enforcement Directorate. That the defamatory imputations were made by Fernandez due to malicious reasons, apart from that, Fernandez sought to criminally defame the complainant to destroy her career to further her own interests since she is also in Bollywood,”  as per Nora Fatehi’s Plea.

Additionally, Fatehi denied ever receiving gifts from Sukesh and claimed that the only time she ever spoke to him was when his wife Leena forced her to do so at an event using a speaker phone.

She acknowledged in her plea that Leena had given her an iPhone and a Gucci bag. Regarding claims that she was given a fancy car, she claimed in court that Sukesh had approached her brother-in-law and asked for payment for directing a film.
