The Mumbai Police have taken action against Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan and Anushka Sharma for riding bikes without helmets in response to complaints made on social media.
Amitabh accepted a ride from a fan to get to work, while Anushka rode a bike with her bodyguard after encountering a roadblock.
Both events happened separately.
Both the performers and their riders lacked helmets in these cases.

On his social media page, Amitabh Bachchan thanked the person who gave him a lift on their bike and saved him from “unmanageable traffic congestion.”
The renowned superstar uploaded a photo of himself riding as a passenger.
He Captioned: “Thank you for the ride buddy .. don’t know you .. but you obliged and got me on time to the location of work .. faster and in avoidance of the unsolvable traffic jams .. thank you capped, shorts and yellowed T-shirt owner.”
In response to the Twitter user’s post, which tagged Mumbai Police and highlighted the absence of helmets for both the rider and pillion.
The official Twitter account of Mumbai Police replied:
“We have shared this with the traffic branch.”
Anushka Sharma
After a video of Anushka Sharma riding a bike went viral online, a user tweeted, “@MumbaiPolice No helmet?”
Also, In response, Mumbai Police acknowledged the tweet.
They stated, “We have shared this with the traffic branch.” The official Twitter handle of Mumbai Traffic Police was also tagged in both tweets.
