Selena Gomez is the latest target of Britney Spears, who is slamming the singer for something she did six years ago.
The American singer and actor said during a speech at the 2016 American Music Awards (AMAs) that she preferred to see women’s emotions rather than their bodies on Instagram.
Spears, who doesn’t hesitate to release naked pictures, has responded angrily to Gomez’s remark.
Without mentioning the Wolves singer by name, she said on Instagram, “Don’t you just adore the nerve of ladies who stand strong and speak on their ideas about not revealing their bodies on Instagram???!!!!! They say, “This is NOT something I would do,” but those same women are the ones who have films featuring them devouring and sucking on homemade ice cream that cost $4 million to produce.
Spears has clarified her remarks and stated in a subsequent Instagram post that nothing she said was directed at any particular person.
Let me be clear about sharing my views on women criticising other women for exercising their First Amendment rights to self-expression, she said. What I said had absolutely nothing to do with any particular person. It was obvious that it was a topic that all women had to deal with.
Gomez, on the other hand, has not reacted to Spears’ comments.
