Indian actress and filmmaker, Pooja Bhatt, expressed her empathy for the children of Gaza during the Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.
Sharing a poignant poem by Palestinian writer and poet Khaled Juma on X, the star of the film “Chaahat” conveyed her heartfelt support for the young ones affected by the conflict.
Tragically, among the 10,022 Palestinians who lost their lives in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza since October 7, at least 4,104 were innocent children.
While some applauded her solidarity with the children, her post faced criticism from a segment of Indian users who accused her of having double standards and questioned her motivations.
One commentator, Avinash, noted, “You’ve never spoken out for Kashmiri pundits, and now you’re addressing the situation in Gaza.”
