Take-Two Interactive finally unveils the highly anticipated launch of Grand Theft Auto 6.
Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has officially announced that Grand Theft Auto VI will be released in autumn 2025. The announcement was made during Take-Two’s recent earnings call, generating significant anticipation within the gaming community.
Grand Theft Auto VI’s trailer, released in December, has already amassed over 190 million views on YouTube, fueled by an online leak preceding its debut. Piers Harding-Rolls, a gaming industry analyst, suggests that the prolonged development period of GTA 6 could make it the most expensive game ever produced.
Despite the over-a-decade gap since the release of GTA 5, the franchise remains a lucrative asset for Take-Two. During the earnings call, it was revealed that GTA 5 has sold 200 million units worldwide, securing its position as the second best-selling video game title of all time, trailing only behind Minecraft.
Last year witnessed a 35% growth in the game’s audience, highlighting its enduring popularity.
While Take-Two’s decision to extend the timeline for Grand Theft Auto 6’s release is strategic, it has disappointed console platforms and game retailers eager to bolster sales.
Nevertheless, the prospect of an advanced and intricately designed gaming experience may redefine industry benchmarks and validate the prolonged anticipation.
