PR and Fashion Director Rezz Aly Shah; a renowned name in the world of Fashion Choreography and event management shares a deep bond with his career and mother.

Some people look for a beautiful place. Others make a place beautiful.

Whenever you attend a glorious event in Islamabad; be it a wedding, opening ceremony, or a fashion show, it’s possibly be headed by Rezz Aly Shah – a mighty name in the world of event planning and fashion choreography.

This supernova event manager started his journey from conducting experimental club events and armature nights and boom! The Shah knew where to exactly tap the hammer! The event went more than expectations and he turned his life towards event planning. And this name is now a brand in the universe of event management.

The talented Rezz Aly Shah brought up by government serving Father; passed away 20 years ago, graduated in Law and completed his Masters in marketing. After one year of service in a Law firm, Rezz decided to sail his boat upon the waves of event management and luck stood by his side.

“I worked with a law firm for a year but felt I was kept in confinement,” Rezz recalls remorsefully.

“I have always been inclined towards fashion. I modeled while living in Karachi and even won the First Face title at a pageant organized for television by an ad agency”  tête-à-tête.

He shared his experience while working in the Law firm for almost a year that he felt himself misfit for the opted field and that he was meant for something which he masters now.

Today, he is known as a luminating nova choreographer, one who has arranged tremendous fashion shows, collabs with designers Maria BMaheen KhanNadia Mistry, Sagar Mehrs Sara Salman, Ayesha Sana, DETAILS, Faryaal Mystique, Sadia Mirza, AsimYar and QYT, Asma Khan, Nickie and Nina, Islooites Mariam Pasha and Tayyab, Amina Malik, Amir Adnan, Cotton & Cotton and even Parisian manufacturer Mahmood Bhatti.

He remarks, “I worked with Bhatti’s French troupe while he was here to celebrate his 25 years in fashion. They were very professional and knew their job well.”

Rezz claims that his beloved event so far was a black-tie starrer at an Islamabad-based five-star hotel for a LA-based chain of stores.

“It was a challenge. There was a double runway which was huge. Although it was well-organized, we still lost six models and maintained six. I was very proud that I could train six new girls up to in 10 days.”

In the winter of 2005, he choreographed a gala night for the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority in Rawalpindi at which the chief guests were President Pervez Musharraf and Sehba Musharraf. Islamabad-based designer Amina Malik had designed clothes for a special segment that exhibited Pakistani culture starting from pre-colonial days to the present time with a special mime performance depicting the tragedy of Indian Occupied Kashmir. He also adored doing a spring show for Begum Sehba Musharaf at Presidency for International Flower Society in March 2006 for PNCA.

Sharing his mom’s opinion about him, she says that he was an adorably cute and chubby child. Apprehending his work life, he says that he wants to work in showbiz; off the record, with a clean image without any rumors, agenda, gossips, or campaigns.

These days, Rezz is cooking something for a surprise and establishing a pilot for a fashion segment with a new channel which he takes a crew to chat with a multitude of fashion industry channels titled Fashion Buzz with Rezz teaming up with designers, stylists, models, fashion school students, etc., and covers fashionable launches and store openings.

When he was asked about this incredible transformation from law clerk to fashionista beginning? He smiled and said, “I think it has to do with inborn creativity. I followed my vibes and acquired skill. I was encouraged by friends who are designers and models. It’s about having a vision and build a strong, cooperative team. He pays success rewards to his two assistants Maha and Arif, and his finance manager Asad. “In all my shows I teamed with the same people including DJ Ali Mustafa in Islamabad and DJ Asif in Karachi.”

Replying to the question that What were his opinions about his choreographing predecessors? He replied softly, “I am fond of Freiha, although I don’t know her too well,” he phases delicately. “I’d definitely like to do work like her and get work of her calibre. She’s an icon in fashion choreography. In 10 years’, time, I’d like to be at Freiha’s level. But perhaps not,” he muses, thinking of the pressures that have turned the once creative choreographer to a client-pleasing automaton.

Rezz has a list of favorite models that include Karachiites IrajRubab, Fauzia, Maha, Tooba, and Nadia Hussain and Lahoriites Nadia MalikNeha, Sofia Khan and Mehreen Syed. In the regard of stylists, he says he “loves to work with Musarrat Baji of Depilex and her Depilex Vision. Athar Shahzad on the contrary is good too”.

He says he loves staying and enjoying at home where he has a private area. He doesn’t have a best friend, although he feels his mother as a best friend. He says that We are a small family so every day is a beautiful memory with her. “She has been supportive and allowed me to become who I am”.

His close friends are Murtaza Hashwani, photographer Kaleem Ahsan (Mickey), (Natasha Hussain), model Nadia Malik and Natasha Zafar-Adil, a banker by profession, QYT and creative manager Adnan Ansari.

Rezz Aly Shah is a living example and tells us that how we should go for our passion. Not only this, but Rezz also exemplifies when you love your work, you maestro in it.
