Famous actor Faysal Qureshi prefers Nikkah over dating

Nikkah

ISLAMABAD: Famous actor and host Faysal Quraishi believes that the Islamic institution of marriage, known as Nikkah, is a superior choice when compared to dating.

During a recent podcast appearance, he delved into various aspects of his personal life, shedding light on the profound impact of his divorce from his first wife and the subsequent criticism he faced.

Faysal, who tied the knot at the tender age of eighteen, described his marriage as a product of youthful love and acknowledged that it was not without its share of mistakes.

He reminisced that he fell in love and married during his formative years.

Faysal expressed his disdain for societal attitudes that appear to endorse dating with multiple partners while stigmatizing divorce.

He decried this as an unethical and irreligious perspective, which wrongly elevates dating as an acceptable path while condemning marriage as a criminal act.

Faysal also reminded negative comments that Mahira Khan had to face at her wedding with Salim Kareem.

Talking about marital rape, the actor pointed weakest part of the nurturing process of society when he quoted religious guidance. He said a wife is bound to obey her husband, but men are never instructed how they should treat their wives.

Qureshi said men should treat their wives with kindness and love and be pleasing and clean to their wives.

Faysal also brought to light the negative comments that Mahira Khan had to endure during her wedding to Salim Kareem.

In a discussion on the sensitive topic of marital rape, the actor emphasized a significant shortcoming in societal nurturing.

He drew upon religious guidance to underscore that while it instructs wives to obey their husbands, it often neglects to explicitly guide men on how to treat their wives.

Faysal stressed the importance of men treating their wives with kindness, love, and maintaining personal hygiene to be pleasing and considerate partners in the marital relationship.
