Atiqa Odho, a Pakistani actress, posted an embarrassing yet eye-opening video of Pakistanis debating politics. Odho expressed her displeasure over the verbal confrontation between PTI supporters and PML-N member and Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.
Odho, who is married to PTI politician Samar Ali Khan and reportedly supported the Pakistani political party Pakistan Tahreek e Insaaf (PTI), supported Aurangzeb after experiencing harassment in London’s streets. Videos of the event are making the rounds on social media, showing the PML-N politician being heckled by people wearing PTI scarves despite his composure and casual demeanour.
Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, also praised Aurangzeb for maintaining her composure under pressure.
Odho penned, “Even if you disagree with someone’s ideas, this kind of harassment is inappropriate and is not the way to address societal problems. When Pakistanis living abroad behave in this way, it presents a very negative image of Pakistan to the outside world. Instead of becoming a part of the solution, they become the problem. I ask my friends and supporters to act respectably, and if you’re not satisfied, use the voting process.”
She said, “You achieve nothing with bad and immature behaviour. Don’t get carried away by emotion and lack of proof or correct information. Get your facts right, have evidence for them, and then follow the law always. Otherwise, you are playing with Pakistan’s future. Regards.”
