Singer and actor Ali Zafar responded with sarcasm on social media after a user compared the YouTube views of his recent song “Balo Batian” with Chahat Fateh Ali Khan’s (CFAK) “Badu Badi.”
In a post on May 23, Zafar expressed, “Confession: I was delusional and arrogant to think I had no competition. I’ve been humbled.”
The user highlighted that “Balo Batian” by Ali Zafar and Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi garnered 16 million views in a month, while Chahat Fateh Ali Khan’s “Badu Badi” amassed 19 million views in the same period. As of June 2, CFAK’s song has reached over 27 million views, showcasing his immense popularity.
Chahat Fateh Ali Khan gained prominence with his anthem for the Pakistan Super League season eight. Currently residing in London, he actively shares his music on social media platforms and is eagerly anticipating the release of his upcoming film “Sabaq” on Eid.
In a recent interview, CFAK reflected on his longstanding passion for singing, tracing it back to 1982 or 1983 when he joined a music group in Sheikhupura. Explaining the reason behind changing his name, he disclosed that he transitioned from Kashif Rana to Chahat Fateh Ali Khan about seven years ago upon resuming his singing career, marking a significant chapter in his artistic journey.
Ali Zafar’s acknowledgment of competition signifies the healthy rivalry within the music industry, fostering growth and creativity among artists. Despite the comparison in YouTube views, Zafar and CFAK both contribute to the rich musical landscape of Pakistan, each with their unique style and fanbase. Their respective journeys serve as inspiration for aspiring musicians, highlighting the resilience and dedication required to succeed in the competitive world of entertainment.
