An elderly couple in Bahawalpur allegedly entered a canal after facing severe financial difficulties, according to local reports.
The incident occurred near Shashmahi Canal. The couple reportedly travelled from Muhajir Colony to the canal in a rickshaw before entering the water.
Woman Rescued Alive
Rescue 1122 teams reached the location after receiving information about the incident.
Rescuers managed to pull the elderly woman from the canal alive. She was subsequently taken to safety.
However, her husband, identified as 75-year-old Yusuf Ali, could not be located.
