ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has officially announced a forthcoming tariff increase affecting both, landline and broadband services, slated to come into effect on January 1, 2024.
Customers nationwide received notifications on Friday regarding the upcoming hike, signaling a revision that will see monthly rates surge by over 10%.
Insiders at PTCL disclosed that the decision to raise tariffs stems from the mounting operational expenses confronting the telecommunications behemoth.
To sustain service standards and address operational needs, PTCL finds it imperative to recalibrate the pricing framework for its services.
Under the tariff adjustment, both landline users and broadband subscribers will witness an uptick in their monthly invoices.
The modified broadband rates for Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) connections are outlined as follows:
- 6 Mbps: Rs2,050
- 10 Mbps: Rs2,400
- 20 Mbps: Rs2,650
- 30 Mbps: Rs3,020
- 50 Mbps: Rs5,100
- 100 Mbps: Rs8,800
