PSX Rebounds with KSE-100 Surging 161 Points

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced a bullish trend on Tuesday, marking a significant recovery after the benchmark index faced a sharp decline of over 2,100 points in the aftermath of recent elections.

The KSE-100 Index showcased a robust rebound, gaining 161.61 points or 0.26%, settling at 61,226.93 points compared to the previous trading day’s close at 61,065.32 points. This positive movement reflected a renewed investor sentiment and a reversal of the bearish trend that followed the election-related uncertainties.

Similarly, the KSE-30 Index also demonstrated resilience, advancing by 47.58 points or 0.23% to settle at 20,685.11 at the close of the market. Trading activity witnessed a notable surge, with a total of 435.54 million shares changing hands, valued at Rs15.972 billion. This marked an increase compared to the last trading day, where 349.97 million shares were traded, with a total value of Rs12.745 billion.

In terms of individual stock performance, 355 companies participated in the trading session. Out of these, 188 companies recorded gains, 139 faced losses, and the share prices of 28 remained unchanged.

The three top-trading companies during the day were K-Electric Limited, with 65.82 million shares traded at Rs4.15 per share, WorldCall Telecom, with 30.09 million shares traded at Rs1.23 per share, and Pak Refinery, with 28.6 million shares traded at Rs25.63 per share.

Among the notable individual stock performances, Mari Petroleum Company Limited experienced the highest increase, with its share price rising by Rs161.03 to close at Rs2,308.04. Following closely, Ibrahim ZIL Limited saw a Rs21.23 increase in its per-share price, settling at Rs304.33.

The bullish market recovery signals a positive shift in investor confidence, emphasizing resilience in the face of recent uncertainties and contributing to a more stable trading environment.
