PM Shehbaz Sharif Initiates Economic Reform Drive with New Cabinet Committees

Economic Reform Drive

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken a significant step forward in advancing economic reforms by announcing the establishment of two vital Cabinet Committees.

These committees signal a strategic effort to accelerate progress and address key areas of focus in the government’s agenda.

The first committee, chaired directly by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif himself, is tasked with overseeing the implementation of pending recommendations falling within the purview of the Special Initiatives and Finance Committee (SIFC).

Comprised of ministers representing various priority sectors of the SIFC, alongside the Finance Minister, this committee boasts a diverse representation.

Notably, special invitations have been extended to important stakeholders such as the Army Chief, Provincial Chief Ministers, and the National Coordinator, underlining the comprehensive approach to decision-making and collaboration.

With an emphasis on efficiency and expedited decision-making processes, the SIFC will provide secretarial support to this committee.

This arrangement aims to facilitate seamless coordination and ensure that decisions made are promptly presented to the federal cabinet for approval, streamlining the implementation of key recommendations.

In addition to the aforementioned committee, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has spearheaded the formation of a second Cabinet Committee focusing on Immigration, Overseas Employment, and Technical Vocational Education and Training.

This committee, consisting of eight members including key ministers and officials, serves as a pivotal platform for addressing crucial issues related to overseas employment and technical education.

The committee’s mandate encompasses a range of responsibilities, including policy formulation, the approval of monitoring frameworks for vocational training institutions, and fostering partnerships with international entities to promote collaboration and knowledge exchange.

By engaging with international partners, the committee aims to leverage external expertise and resources to enhance the quality and effectiveness of technical vocational education and overseas employment initiatives.

Overall, the establishment of these Cabinet Committees reflects Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s proactive approach to governance and commitment to driving economic reforms.

By fostering collaboration, streamlining decision-making processes, and addressing critical areas of concern, these committees are poised to play a pivotal role in advancing the government’s economic agenda and promoting sustainable development.
