Police Take Suspect Into Custody in Cantonment Area
Lahore police have arrested Muhammad Nail Azhar Khan, the son of serving DSP Azhar Naveed, in connection with multiple serious criminal cases.
Officials said the suspect was wanted in cases involving alleged abduction, multi-million-rupee fraud and criminal intimidation.
CCTV footage of the arrest has also surfaced. The video reportedly shows police officials taking Nail Khan into custody during an operation in the Cantonment area.
According to police, the suspect had been facing legal proceedings for some time. He was also reportedly seeking interim bail from court before his arrest.
Police records show that several cases have been registered against him at different police stations in Lahore.
One case was registered at Faisal Town police station over the alleged kidnapping of a citizen named Haris. Another FIR was lodged at Sarwar Road police station over allegations of harassment and threats.
Police said Nail Khan also had a previous criminal record. A 2025 case registered at Defence A police station involved allegations related to breach of trust.
Father and Son Face Fraud Allegations
The case gained wider attention after allegations of a major financial fraud worth Rs340 million emerged.
According to a complaint filed by citizen Hussam Khan, DSP Azhar Naveed and his son allegedly deceived him in a luxury vehicle transaction.
The complainant alleged that the father-son duo received more than Rs333 million but failed to deliver the vehicles. He also claimed that the money was not returned.
Following the complaint, police had already arrested DSP Azhar Naveed and launched an investigation into the matter.
Officials said the case involves serious allegations and requires detailed financial and criminal investigation.
The arrest of Nail Khan is now expected to help investigators examine the full chain of events, money trail and alleged role of each accused person.
Investigation Expands Into Multiple Cases
Police said the suspect faces accusations linked to fraud, abduction, threats and harassment.
Investigators are expected to review CCTV footage, financial records, complainant statements and evidence from different police stations.
The case has also raised questions because one of the accused is the son of a serving police officer, while the officer himself is already under investigation.
Authorities said legal action would proceed according to available evidence and registered cases.
The arrest has drawn public attention because of the amount involved in the alleged fraud and the nature of the criminal allegations.
Police officials said further investigation is underway to determine whether more people were involved in the alleged network.
The development marks a significant turn in the case, as both the serving DSP and his son are now facing scrutiny over serious allegations.
