The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has opened applications for its Digital, AI and Innovation Internship 2026.
The programme offers Pakistani students and recent graduates an opportunity to contribute to international projects focused on technology and sustainable development.
Moreover, the internship is fully remote, allowing participants to work from Pakistan while gaining international experience.
Internship focuses on AI and digital innovation
The internship is hosted by UNDP’s Digital, AI and Innovation (DAI) Hub.
The programme aims to use emerging technologies to address global challenges, including poverty, climate change, and inequality.
Consequently, interns will have the opportunity to support projects that promote innovation and contribute to sustainable development.

Applicants can apply for several specialised work areas based on their interests and academic background.

Who can apply?
The internship is open to the following applicants:
- Students currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD programme.
- Final-year undergraduate students.
- Recent graduates who completed their degrees within the past year from Pakistani or international universities.
Applicants must demonstrate strong English language proficiency. In addition, they should possess solid research and analytical skills.
A genuine interest in artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is also required.

Application process
The application process consists of two required steps. First, applicants must submit their curriculum vitae (CV) and a brief cover letter through the official UNDP Careers platform. After completing that step, candidates must also submit the mandatory Airtable application form.
Both requirements must be completed for the application to be considered.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Therefore, interested students and graduates are encouraged to apply as early as possible. The final deadline for submitting applications is September 30, 2026.
Successful applicants will join internship placements scheduled throughout the year.
