The federal government has announced another increase in high-speed diesel prices while keeping petrol rates unchanged. The latest adjustment will remain effective for three days, from October 24 to 26, 2026.
According to the Petroleum Division, diesel prices have increased by Rs1.91 per litre. However, petrol remains unchanged at Rs377.71 per litre.
New Petrol and Diesel Prices in Pakistan
Following the latest revision, high-speed diesel now costs Rs393.66 per litre, compared with its previous rate of Rs391.75.
Meanwhile, petrol continues to sell at Rs377.71 per litre.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised fuel prices under the federal government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.
Why Are Diesel Prices Increasing?
OGRA attributed the latest adjustment to international market developments, including changes in global oil benchmarks, premiums, and related costs.
On Thursday, the government had already increased diesel prices by Rs1.64 while reducing petrol prices by Rs1.60 per litre.
The latest increase marks another adjustment amid uncertainty in international energy markets.
Global Oil Prices Surge Amid Middle East Tensions
International crude oil prices climbed sharply on Friday following Houthi attacks in Saudi Arabia.
Brent crude rose 1.2% to $114.57 per barrel after briefly reaching $115.
Meanwhile, US West Texas Intermediate crude increased 1.5% to $100.95 per barrel.
The attacks have raised concerns about possible disruptions to Middle Eastern energy supplies.
Higher diesel prices could increase transport and agricultural operating costs across Pakistan.
Meanwhile, consumers remain concerned about further fuel price changes as global energy markets face continued uncertainty.
