Dr. Usman Anwar has been assigned another major position within Pakistan’s law enforcement structure after receiving the additional charge of Director General of the National Police Bureau.
The development comes while he continues serving as the head of the Federal Investigation Agency.
According to an official notification, the appointment received approval from Shehbaz Sharif.
The notification stated that Dr. Usman Anwar will hold the additional charge for three months or until authorities make a regular appointment for the position.
Officials also confirmed that the appointment became effective from May 1, 2026.
