Islamabad Traffic Police has announced alternative routes for motorists as construction work continues around Kashmir Chowk.
The traffic police has warned that Club Road may also face closure during the ongoing work. Therefore, motorists should plan their journeys carefully and follow the recommended diversions.
The alternative routes cover commuters travelling between Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Rawal Dam, Park Road, Lehtrar Road, Murree and Bhara Kahu.
Routes From Secretariat and Serena Hotel
Motorists travelling from the Secretariat and Serena Hotel towards Rawalpindi can use Srinagar Highway and Ninth Avenue.
However, if Club Road closes, residents from G-5, the Secretariat and Serena Hotel have another option. They can travel through Srinagar Highway, Mera Abadi and Peshawar Road.
These routes can help motorists avoid the affected section and maintain smoother traffic movement during construction.
Alternative Routes From Lake View
Motorists approaching from the Lake View U-turn can return through Murree Road and Club Road.
Meanwhile, drivers heading towards Rawal Dam Chowk, Park Road and Lehtrar Road should use Srinagar Highway and Seventh Avenue.
Shakarparian Road, Tulip Hotel and Rawal Dam Road are also available as alternative routes for motorists travelling towards these areas.
Routes for Murree and Bhara Kahu
Travellers heading towards Murree and Bhara Kahu have also been advised to use alternative roads.
The recommended route starts from Faizabad and continues through Faisal Avenue and Zero Point. Motorists can then use the Srinagar Highway underpass and Jinnah Square.
From there, travellers can proceed towards Bhara Kahu and Murree while avoiding the affected traffic movement around Club Road.
Routes From Rawalpindi to Islamabad
Motorists travelling from Rawalpindi towards Islamabad should use Ninth Avenue, Faqar-e-Epi Road and Srinagar Highway.
This route provides an alternative connection for commuters who would otherwise use roads affected by the construction activity.
Similarly, motorists travelling from Park Road and Lehtrar Road towards Islamabad can use Tulip Hotel Road.
They can then continue through Garden Avenue and Seventh Avenue to reach their destinations.
Traffic Police Urges Motorists to Cooperate
The Islamabad Traffic Police has urged motorists to follow the recommended alternative routes during the construction work.
Drivers have also been asked to cooperate with traffic personnel deployed in the affected areas. Consequently, following traffic instructions can help reduce congestion and maintain smoother movement.
Motorists travelling through Islamabad and Rawalpindi should therefore remain alert to diversions and possible changes around Club Road.
With construction work continuing near Kashmir Chowk, using the advised alternative routes can help commuters avoid unnecessary delays.
