The Balochistan government has imposed Section 144 across the province for 30 days, citing concerns over public safety and law and order.
The restrictions took effect immediately from September 23, 2026, according to the provincial Home Department.
Gatherings, Rallies and Demonstrations Banned
The order prohibits gatherings of five or more people at public places.
The ban covers sit-ins, processions, rallies, demonstrations and similar public activities.
The government said it received reports indicating possible activities that could threaten public peace, law and order, and public security.
Weapons and Face Coverings Restricted
The order also prohibits the display, carrying, possession or use of weapons in public places.
Exceptions will apply where weapons are specifically authorised under the law.
Covering or concealing the face in public places is also prohibited. This includes the use of masks, mufflers or other items that prevent identification.
Law-enforcement agencies and district administrations have been directed to strictly enforce the restrictions.
Violators will face legal action under the relevant laws.
Security Measures Follow Recent Operations
Balochistan Adviser to the Home Department Babar Yousafzai confirmed that Section 144 would remain in force for 30 days.
The latest restrictions come amid increased security activity across the province.
Security forces recently reported killing 19 militants in separate intelligence-based operations in Quetta, Kech and other areas.
The latest order marks the third province-wide Section 144 enforcement in Balochistan this year. Similar restrictions were imposed in May and during Muharram in June.
