QUETTA: The Balochistan government has approved a 100 percent salary increase for employees of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF). The move aims to strengthen the provinceโs counterterrorism capabilities and support personnel serving in high-risk assignments.
The Balochistan Finance Secretary issued an official notification confirming the decision. According to the notification, the salary increase will take effect from July 1, 2026. The raise will apply to all currently serving CTD and ATF personnel across every rank.
Officials said the decision reflects the governmentโs commitment to enhancing the effectiveness of security forces. Moreover, authorities expect the increase to improve morale among officers involved in sensitive counterterrorism operations.
The notification clarified that the revised salary structure will apply only to active employees posted in the CTD and ATF. Therefore, personnel serving in these departments will receive the benefit from the start of the new fiscal period.
However, the government confirmed that other financial benefits will remain unchanged. Allowances, pensions and gratuity payments will continue to be calculated on the basis of the existing basic salary. As a result, the salary increase will not affect the current framework for retirement benefits or additional allowances.
Meanwhile, the Balochistan Accountant General has been instructed to incorporate the approved increase into salary payments for July 2026. Relevant departments have also received directions to ensure immediate implementation of the decision.
Furthermore, officials emphasized that strengthening the provinceโs anti-terrorism network remains a key priority. They noted that CTD and ATF personnel play a vital role in maintaining security and combating militant threats.
The government believes the salary increase will provide greater support to officers working in challenging environments. Consequently, authorities expect the measure to enhance operational readiness and further improve the overall performance of anti-terrorism units across Balochistan.
