Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame has made a surprising return to the box office, seven years after its original theatrical release.
The blockbuster returned to cinemas as Avengers: Endgame Encore and generated around $26 million in North America over the weekend.

The Marvel film played across approximately 3,060 cinemas during its return. It earned about $11.2 million on Friday, showing strong interest from audiences familiar with the 2019 superhero epic.
The re-release includes additional material not featured in the original theatrical version. Marvel has also added new footage and a post-credit sequence.
The extra content includes material connected to the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, giving fans a new reason to revisit the film before the next Avengers chapter arrives.
Marvel Builds Momentum for Doomsday
The timing of the re-release is significant for Marvel. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to reach cinemas on December 18, 2026.

Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson’s Primetime opened in second place with around $19 million. The A24 thriller earned about $2.8 million from early screenings and another $6 million on Friday.
Avengers: Endgame Encore also finished ahead of Brad Pitt’s Heart of the Beast and Forgotten Island at the weekend box office.
The comeback arrives as Marvel prepares to bring the Avengers back to cinemas with its next major installment.
