Attock police have booked 250 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers over an incident at Attock Bridge. The case follows allegations of rioting, vandalism and removal of barriers ahead of the planned long march.
The bridge connects Punjab with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and became a key point of security arrangements ahead of the march. Police said the workers created chaos while removing hurdles placed at the bridge.
Eight Serious Charges Registered
Police registered cases against the PTI workers at Attock Khurd police station. The cases include eight serious charges linked to the incident at Attock Bridge.
According to police, the incident involved rioting and vandalism after barriers were removed from the bridge. The authorities also detained several activists following the confrontation.
The police have also accused those arrested of damaging public property. Legal proceedings will therefore continue against the individuals allegedly involved in the damage.
