ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) has officially announced the recipients of the Kamal-e-Fun and National Literary Awards during a press conference led by Chairperson Dr. Najiba Arif.
For the year 2024, the prestigious Kamal-e-Fun Award for 2023 has been awarded to renowned poet Iftikhar Arif, honoring his remarkable lifetime contributions to literature.
Dr. Arif emphasized that the Kamal-e-Fun Award, instituted in 1997, remains the country’s highest literary distinction and carries a cash prize of one million rupees. It is presented annually to a literary luminary in recognition of their enduring impact on the literary world.
Alongside this lifetime achievement award, PAL also announced National Literary Awards for outstanding works published in Urdu, Punjabi, Saraiki, Pashto, Sindhi, Brahvi, and Hindko.
These awards celebrate not only the literary excellence of individual authors but also highlight the linguistic richness and cultural diversity that define Pakistan’s literary heritage.
