The family of senior journalist and anchor Arshad Sharif announced that a fresh postmortem would be performed on his remains today.
The Kenyan police acknowledged that they shot Sharif on the evening of October 23. The incident occurred on the outskirts of Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, according to the Kenyan authorities.
According to the family, Sharif’s postmortem at Pims Hospital would receive help from the police and the federal capital’s administration. In this regard, a medical team of three doctors will be assembled.
The mother of Arshad Sharif insisted that a renowned surgeon be present during the hospital postmortem.
The senior journalist’s remains would be transported to the Pims Hospital in the morning, according to the authorities. The body has been kept in the Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital’s mortuary.
After he was slain in Kenya, Arshad Sharif’s initial postmortem was performed in Nairobi. He underwent a postmortem, and his body was transported to Pakistan.
In the early hours of Wednesday, a Qatar Airways jet carrying his body reached Islamabad. His body was delivered to his family at the airport in Islamabad.
Tuesday in Peshawar, PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan asserted that journalist Arshad Sharif’s murder was the result of a targeted assassination.
Whatever anyone says, I am certain that Arshad Sharif was a victim of a target killing, Khan declared.
“I had heard Sharif was going to be slain so the truth could be silenced,”
Additionally, the former leader asserted that Sharif was receiving threats from unidentified callers.
Khan said, adding that he thought Sharif was the most admired journalist, “I told him to leave the nation, but he did not listen.”
