The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has foiled an alleged drug smuggling attempt at Quetta International Airport. Officials seized 3.27 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as ice, from a passenger preparing to travel to Dubai. The ANF also arrested the passenger during the operation.
The operation took place during security checks at Quetta airport. ANF personnel intercepted the passenger before the scheduled departure. They recovered the suspected crystal methamphetamine and took the passenger into custody for further investigation. Authorities are now examining the circumstances surrounding the attempted smuggling and the passenger’s alleged role.
Dubai-Bound Drug Shipment Intercepted
The passenger was reportedly ready to board a flight to Dubai when ANF officials stopped the alleged smuggling attempt. The seizure prevented more than three kilograms of crystal methamphetamine from leaving Pakistan through an international airport.
Crystal methamphetamine is a highly addictive synthetic drug. Drug trafficking networks often use international travel routes to move such substances across borders. Airport interceptions can therefore play an important role in disrupting these networks.
The ANF has continued operations at airports and other entry and exit points to prevent the movement of illegal narcotics. The latest seizure highlights the continuing challenge of drug trafficking through international travel routes.
Investigation Underway
Following the arrest, investigators are expected to determine where the seized drug came from and whether the passenger was working with a wider trafficking network. Authorities may also examine travel records and other evidence as part of the investigation.
The latest action comes as Pakistani authorities continue efforts to stop narcotics trafficking and prevent illegal drugs from reaching international markets. Further details about the passenger and the investigation are expected as officials proceed with legal proceedings.
