Rawalpindi Additional Deputy Commissioner Maliha Sahar has filed a domestic violence complaint against her husband, alleging assault, confinement and death threats.
Sahar named her husband, Jawad Ali, in the complaint filed at the Women Police Station in Rawalpindi. She alleged that the abuse had continued for several months.
The complaint was registered under Sections 342 and 506 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The sections concern wrongful confinement and criminal intimidation.
ADC Alleges Months of Domestic Abuse
According to her complaint, Maliha Sahar is married to Jawad Ali and they have two minor children.
She alleged that her husband subjected her to physical, psychological and emotional abuse over several months. However, she said she initially remained silent to protect her family.
According to Sahar, her husband’s conduct gradually became more violent and coercive. She alleged that the situation eventually escalated into physical assault and confinement.
The complainant described the alleged incidents as part of a continuing pattern rather than an isolated domestic dispute.
What Happened on October 2?
Sahar alleged that the situation escalated on October 2, 2026, when her husband allegedly assaulted her.
She further alleged that he forcibly took her mobile phone and locked her inside a room. As a result, she said she could not leave or seek immediate assistance.
According to the complaint, she was also prevented from contacting her family or approaching the police. She further alleged that she could not see her children during the incident.
Sahar said these restrictions left her isolated from people and institutions that could have helped her.
ADC Alleges Death Threats and Coercive Behaviour
The ADC further alleged that her husband repeatedly threatened to kill her and harm their children.
She said the alleged threats caused her to fear for her life and personal safety. Moreover, she alleged that taking away her phone deliberately cut off her access to help.
According to the complaint, restricting her movement also separated her from her family and other sources of support.
Sahar further alleged that her husband had used restrictions involving their minor children as a means of pressure and intimidation.
She described the alleged conduct as involving physical assault, wrongful confinement, intimidation, coercive control and psychological abuse.
Maliha Sahar Seeks Police Protection
The complainant has requested immediate police protection because she fears further violence or a possible attempt on her life.
She also asked police to provide immediate assistance to ensure her safety. Furthermore, she requested appropriate legal proceedings against her husband based on the allegations in her complaint.
The case has brought attention to allegations of domestic violence involving a serving government official. However, the allegations remain those presented in the complaint and have not been established as facts by a court.
Maliha Sahar’s complaint seeks both immediate protection and legal action following the alleged assault, confinement and threats. She has also raised concerns about the safety of herself and her two minor children.
