Punjab Wildlife Rangers have fined TikToker Iman Ali Rs. 90,000 over allegations of promoting illegal hunting through social media.
The action came during a province-wide crackdown on wildlife crimes, with authorities also taking action against people involved in illegal hunting.
According to a Punjab Wildlife Rangers spokesperson, the action against Iman Ali took place in Chakwal.
Assistant Chief Wildlife Ranger Mirza Abid Hussain initiated the action after Iman Ali uploaded pictures of illegal hunting on social media.
Punjab Wildlife Teams Seize Hunting Equipment
The crackdown also targeted people involved in illegal hunting and the possession of protected birds across Punjab. During the operations, wildlife authorities recovered nearly two dozen wild birds.
They also seized 36 netting gears used for hunting quails and falcons. Meanwhile, officials took action against several individuals involved in hunting activities across different districts.
Quail Hunter Fined in Chakwal
In Chakwal, wildlife authorities fined a quail hunter Rs. 30,000 during the crackdown. At the same time, legal proceedings were initiated against another person for illegally keeping 14 peacocks.
Authorities recovered the peacocks and shifted them to Jauharabad Wildlife Park. The action highlighted the broader enforcement drive against the illegal hunting and possession of protected wildlife.
30 Suspects Challaned Across Punjab
The province-wide operation resulted in challans against 30 suspects, according to the wildlife authorities. Overall, 27 suspects were collectively fined Rs. 919,000 during the crackdown.
Furthermore, authorities registered cases against two other individuals as part of the enforcement action. Wildlife teams continued operations against illegal hunters and traders in several districts.
These included Sahiwal, Attock, Dera Ghazi Khan, Gujranwala, Khushab, Narowal, Multan and Nankana Sahib.
The latest actions form part of the ongoing enforcement against illegal hunting and wildlife-related offences across Punjab.
