Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA and former federal law minister Mahmood Bashir Virk has died at 89.
Virk had been receiving treatment at a private hospital in Lahore for several days. He died after a prolonged illness.
Mahmood Bashir Virk Served Five Terms
Mahmood Bashir Virk was elected from NA-77 during the 2024 general elections. He was among the senior-most leaders of the PML-N.
Throughout his political career, Virk was elected to the National Assembly five times. He also served as the federal law minister.
His long political career made him a prominent figure within the PML-N. His death has prompted condolences from political figures.
Funeral Prayers to Be Offered in Gujranwala
According to his family, Mahmood Bashir Virk’s funeral prayers will be offered in Gujranwala tomorrow.
Federal Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry expressed deep grief and sorrow over Virk’s death. He also offered condolences following the veteran politician’s passing.
In his condolence message, Chaudhry described Virk as a sincere, principled, and public-spirited political leader.
He said Mahmood Bashir Virk’s political and public services would always be remembered.
The veteran PML-N politician’s death marks the loss of a senior parliamentary figure. His decades of political service remain a significant part of his public career.
