Windows 11 to Incorporate Same Embellishments Currently Under Testing in Windows 10

Windows 11

Exciting news for fans of Microsoft’s software ecosystem as the tech giant has recently unveiled plans to extend the same enhancements currently undergoing testing in Windows 10 to users of Windows 11.

These enhancements primarily take the form of small lock screen cards, designed to provide users with succinct yet informative snippets of various categories such as traffic updates, weather forecasts, financial updates, and sports scores.

According to reports from credible sources like TechRadar, referencing insights from renowned Windows leaker PhantomOfEarth, Microsoft is in the process of deploying these embellishments in the Release Preview channel for Windows 11 test builds. These reports were initially spotted on X (previously known as Twitter).

The screenshots of PhantomOfEarth’s post on X/@PhantomOfEarth revealed that these lock screen cards, slated for integration into Windows 11, are being introduced in build 22631.3371 (KB5035942).

At present, these cards are in the testing phase, offering functionalities akin to those observed in Windows 10. Users have the option to toggle these cards on or off; however, they lack the ability to select specific cards for display.

For instance, if a user wishes to deactivate the finance-related card, they’re currently unable to do so.

Nevertheless, for those who prefer not to utilize these lock screen cards altogether, there is an option to disable them entirely.

PhantomOfEarth was among the first to draw attention to these cards during testing, although Windows Latest also took note and suggested that this feature may be part of the optional March 2024 upgrade.

Consequently, it’s anticipated that the feature will be fully integrated into the system through a cumulative update expected in the following month.
