Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has approached Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) seeking support for the positions of Prime Minister and National Assembly speaker in the upcoming elections.
A delegation from PTI, including its nominees for Prime Minister, Omar Ayub, National Assembly speaker, Amir Dogar, and others, visited the residence of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman in Islamabad.
Omar Ayub, the PTI’s nominee for the prime minister’s position, stated that they visited Maulana Fazalur Rehman to request support in the election process. He confirmed that the PTI founder is aware of the development and mentioned that several political parties have reservations about the election results.
Asad Qaiser, speaking at the meeting, emphasized that both PTI and JUI-F share the same stance that election results should be announced according to Forms 45. He added that the two parties would collaborate in the parliament, highlighting the importance of establishing the rule of law for the country’s prosperity.
In a prior meeting on February 15, a PTI delegation, led by Asad Qaiser and including Amir Dogar, Barrister Saif, Fazal Muhammad, and Umair Niazi, conveyed the founder’s message to JUI-F chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman. During this meeting, both parties discussed concerns regarding alleged massive rigging in the recently held General Elections 2024.
