ANP Rejects Election Results, Calls for Investigation into Constituencies

PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) leader Aimal Wali Khan, in a strongly worded stance, has unequivocally rejected the results of the general elections and is calling for a thorough investigation into all constituencies.

During a press conference held in Peshawar on Sunday, Aimal characterized the events of February 8 as more akin to a ‘transaction’ than a genuinely democratic election process.

Expressing deep concern, Aimal alleged that numerous ANP workers suffered injuries amid incidents of violence on election day. He pointedly criticized the electoral process, suggesting that individuals with physical limitations somehow managed to secure seats in assemblies.

Aimal Wali emphasized that sidelining nationalist leaders would not only be detrimental but would also trigger a ‘historic’ reaction. He asserted that ANP did not necessarily require parliamentary representation to effectively raise its voice for the people.

Highlighting a perceived threat, Aimal contended that a ‘puppet’ assembly has been elected with the intent of rolling back the 18th amendment, a constitutional provision that holds significant importance.

Concluding his address, Aimal Wali called for a fair and comprehensive investigation into the election processes, asserting that his party should not be pitted against the state.

This rejection of election results and the demand for scrutiny underscore the complexity and contentious nature of the recent electoral process, indicating challenges faced by political parties in accepting the outcomes.
