Caretaker Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications, Umar Saif, delivered positive news for freelancers in Pakistan by announcing that PayPal services are set to become available in the country.
According to the minister, PayPal is ready to offer its services in Pakistan, facilitating international payments through a third-party gateway. The entry of PayPal into the Pakistani market is expected to be established through a strategic partnership.
Sources within the IT ministry have highlighted that this development will have a significant and positive impact on the freelance community in Pakistan.
Freelancers will now have increased accessibility to international clients and seamless payment transactions, enhancing their opportunities and market reach.
This announcement follows last week’s disclosure by the caretaker Federal Minister for Information Technology, Dr. Umar Saif, regarding the government’s ambitious project to establish 10,000 E-Rozgar centers nationwide.
These centers will be equipped with modern facilities, aiming to support freelancers and startups. The initiative addresses the challenges faced by approximately 1.5 million freelancers who lack suitable workspaces.
Dr. Umar Saif emphasized that the establishment of joint E-Rozgar centers will not only empower freelancers but also contribute to increased investment in the country’s digital landscape, creating new employment opportunities.
He encouraged the youth to consider entrepreneurship, pointing out the potential for earning higher stipends per month through the E-Rozgar initiative.
