Naya Pakistan
Jahangir Khan Tareen, the patron-in-chief of the Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party (IPP), declared at a workers’ convention in Taxila that the party, under his leadership, would genuinely usher in a ‘Naya Pakistan.’
Tareen, addressing the gathering where former PTI leader Ghulam Sarwar Khan officially joined the party, expressed his commitment to take Pakistan beyond its current potential. He lamented the lack of progress over the past 75 years and emphasized the importance of working with good intentions and prioritizing the people.
Describing the relationship with Ghulam Sarwar Khan as that of “brothers,” Tareen highlighted the synergy that comes with such partnerships.
He urged political parties to move beyond constant infighting, emphasizing the need for healthy competition without undermining the nation. Tareen envisioned the IPP setting new traditions, fulfilling objectives, and working for the benefit of the people.
Encouraging a positive discourse, Tareen advised against insulting and wishing ill upon others, emphasizing the need for careful language choices.
He expressed gratitude to the workers for their support, acknowledging them as the true strength of the party. Tareen pledged that the IPP’s message would reach across the country through the efforts of dedicated workers.
As election campaigns commenced for the polls scheduled on February 8, the IPP made promises to ensure a minimum wage of Rs50,000 for workers, provide subsidies on electricity bills for the poor, allocate increased funds to the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), and reduce petrol prices.
IPP President Aleem Khan reiterated the party’s commitment to collecting taxes from the wealthy and channeling resources to benefit the less privileged, making relief for the ordinary and poor classes a top priority.
