ISLAMABAD: Bushra Bibi, the former first lady, has refuted the allegations of forging receipts related to the purchase of Toshakhana watches and said that the leaked audio recordings attributed to her are counterfeit.
In relation to the making of false sales receipts for Toshakhana watches, the details of Bushra Bibi’s statement to the police, provided the previous day, have surfaced.
Police investigators posed 23 questions to Bushra Bibi, primarily concerning the Toshakhana gifts.
She denies the accusation of producing counterfeit sale receipts for Toshakhana watches.
Sources indicate that, in compliance with a court order, the wife of the PTI chief participated in the investigation on Tuesday.
During the inquiry, she conveyed to the investigators that she had no knowledge of the origin of the receipts or the identity of their creator. She also dismissed media reports concerning the Toshakhana watches as unsubstantiated.
The investigation team also inquired about two alleged audio leaks involving Bushra Bibi. She refuted the claim that the voice in the audio clips belonged to her.
Upon her denial, the police team played the audio clips for her. However, even after listening to the clips, she maintained that they were not authentic.
The police investigation team has also decided to subject both audio recordings to a forensic examination.
The findings of the forensic analysis of the audio clips will be included in the case documentation.
