Area around jail declared ‘red zone’, media coverage prohibited.
ISLAMABAD: The information regarding the arrest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan from his Zaman Park residence in Lahore Yesterday, his subsequent transfer to the Attock Jail and he being medically fit has been revealed.
Doctors declared Imran Khan fit in his medical examination, and authorities provided him with all facilities under the ‘B Class’ category.
Meanwhile, law enforcement has further beefed up security around Attock District Jail.
They declared the area around the jail a ‘red zone’ and imposed a media coverage ban. Additionally, they deployed Elite Force personnel.
Furthermore, they put security on high alert along the rear wall of the jail.
According to the details, sources reported that they constituted three teams to arrest the former premier.
They added that Lahore Crimes Investigation Agency SSP Malik Liaquat oversaw apprehending Imran Khan.
Furthermore, they stated that after the arrest, they handed over the PTI chief to Lahore DIG (Operations).
The sources said that DIG (Operations) Nasir Rizvi left Lahore for the capital city with the PTI chairman.
They added that they handed over Imran Khan to Islamabad SSP (Operations) Malik Jamil Zafar near Kot Momin.
The sources also mentioned that before the handover, they confiscated the mobile phones of all the officials.
In addition to the officials, they also prohibited senior police officers from using their mobile phones during the handing over process.
SSP Operations Jamil Zafar transferred PTI Chairman Imran Khan to the Attock district police chief at 7 pm.
Afterward, Attock DPO Sardar Ghayas Gul handed over the former prime minister to the jail authorities, according to the sources.
