Four martyred in ‘suicide bombing’ at North Waziristan checkpost

Four martyred in ‘suicide bombing’ at North Waziristan checkpost:

On Wednesday, a blast targeted the Liaquat Checkpost in North Waziristan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the martyrdom of at least four people, including three security officials.

Two others, namely Hawaldar Manzoor and police officer Shakir were injured in the incident.

Two members of the security forces, a police officer, and a civilian were all killed in the incident in the Datta Khel tehsil of Miran Shah, according to police sources.

The authorities took the dead and injured to DHQ Miran Shah Hospital.

According to early reports, a car carrying explosives struck the checkpoint on purpose.

Bombing

The number of bombings in the country has increased recently. In Balochistan’s Zhob district on May 19, a bomb attack targeted Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Amir Sirajul Haq’s convoy.

The JI chief nearly avoided the suspected suicide attack, but four others were hurt and his car partially incurred damage. At the blast site, law enforcement personnel found the attacker’s body.

Three people died and five others were hurt when a suspected suicide bomber blew himself up in the North Waziristan town of Miranshah in December 2022. Most of the victims, according to government officials, were local pedestrians.

After the incident occurred, law enforcement officials launched an investigation and carried out a search of the area.

There were contradictory accounts as to who the alleged attacker was riding a motorbike for.
