Overseas PTI Supporter Booked for Abusing Pakistani Police

Overseas PTI Supporter Booked for Abusing Pakistani Police:

An overseas resident of Saudi Arabia who supported the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been booked after a video of him angrily abusing senior police officers went viral.

The person, identified as Said Wali from Upper Dir, was seen on camera using derogatory language towards the police officers who had reported cases against political workers.

According to reports, Said Wali has been charged with misbehavior for his treatment of senior police officers during a campaign against the party’s leaders, employees, and followers.

Wali emphasised that the allegations against him are unfounded in another viral video that was posted on social media.

He said that eight First Information Reports (FIRs) have been filed against him.

The police have chosen not to comment on the matter.

Protesters, including workers and supporters of PTI, became violent after Punjab Rangers arrested Khan on May 9, following the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) arrest warrant in the £190 million settlement case.

The PTI chief’s detention infuriated party members, who marched to the streets in different cities across the nation and vandalised both public and private property, including military facilities. Others simultaneously vented their rage on social networking sites and other online forums.

In opposition to their chairman’s imprisonment, a large number of PTI leaders, employees, and fans posted, tweeted, and uploaded videos, photographs, postings, and messages online. They also openly criticised the government, law enforcement agencies, and other state institutions.

The administration then launched a crackdown against people who participated in street disturbances as well as those who acted abusively online, aiding in the inciting of hate and violence.
