She added, “This building is linked to the country’s progress and destruction. The decisions of the judiciary are responsible for the destruction of the country.”

She clarified that she was not aiming her criticism at the judges, but rather at those elements in the apex court “facilitating” PTI chief Imran Khan.

“Maryam addressed Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, asking him if he was happy to see the sea of people gathered for the protest.”

Maryam stated that it was the responsibility of the judiciary to hold accountable those elements spreading chaos and anarchy in the country, referring to the recent violent protests following Khan’s arrest.

Maryam addressed the protesters and expressed that the PDM has respect for the Constitution and judges, and did not want to hold a sit-in outside the Supreme Court.

The judiciary in the past had sent elected prime ministers packing, and the ruling party laments that the supremacy of the parliament was not respected.

Maryam blamed the chief justice for the anarchy that has engulfed the entire country, in addition to holding Khan responsible, while addressing the protesters

At a time when the military was not ready to impose martial law and stand with democracy, Maryam pointed out that the country had been subjected to judicial martial law.
