The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has proposed lowering petroleum product prices, including a potential cut of Rs10 per litre for petrol.
OGRA has also proposed lowering fuel prices by Rs7 to Rs10 per litre and diesel prices by Rs8 per litre.
The authority has already provided the government with a report of these pricing reductions.
The finance minister will meet with the prime minister on the recommendations, and a final decision on petroleum product prices will be made on Monday.

The new prices, which will be in place for the next 15 days, will take effect after midnight on May 15.
It is worth noting that the price of crude oil in the Brent oil market has reached as high as $77.44 a barrel in the last 14 days.
