Twitter released a formal price sheet after announcing changes to access its API last month.
In addition, a sign-up page has been opened, allowing those interested to put down money to obtain access.
Currently, there are three tiers available: Free, Basic, and Enterprise.
As anticipated, the Free tier will not cost users anything but will have many limitations.
On the other hand, the Basic tier will cost $100 per month.
The company has not disclosed pricing for its Enterprise package but is asking those interested to contact the platform for more information regarding its monthly subscription tiers.
The Free tier provides access to 1 app ID and the ability to post up to 1,500 tweets per month at the app level, but with a rate limit.
Twitter recommends this account for those who want to explore the API or only require write-only access.
This option may be suitable for individuals who need API access for a bot, but with only around 50 tweets per day allowed, the limitations may be too restrictive.
The Basic account, on the other hand, provides access to 2 app IDs, up to 50,000 tweets per month at the app level, and 3,000 tweets at the user level, along with a read limit of 10,000 tweets per month.
This tier may be a better option for users who require a higher level of access.
Find the Right API Access for you
Twitter has not disclosed specific details about limits for the Enterprise tier, so interested parties will need to contact the company directly for more information. At present, there are no plans for student and teacher packages, although Twitter has indicated it may offer something in the future.
Given that Twitter owner Elon Musk has been making rapid adjustments to the platform since purchasing it last year, the recent changes to API access are not unexpected.
As a final note, the company has announced it will phase out current plans such as Standard, Essential, Elevated, and Premium over the next 30 days.
As per recommendation, users on these old tiers transition to the new plans for a seamless switch.
