KP Governor Haji Ghulam Ali dissolves provincial assembly today

PESHAWAR/ISLAMABAD: Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali today dissolved the provincial assembly on the advice of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan.

“I, Haji Ghulam Ali, Governor of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, under clause (1)of Article 112 of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973, dissolve the provincial assembly of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with immediate effect.

Henceforth, the provincial cabinet also stands dissolved,” KP Governor said in a letter he wrote to chief minister Mahmood Khan and Opposition leader Akram Khan Durrani on Wednesday morning.

However, sitting chief minister Mahmood Khan will continue to work as CM till the appointment of a caretaker chief minister.

Earlier, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan sent a summary to Governor for the dissolution of provincial assembly on Tuesday night.

Before sending summary to Governor, KP chief minister chaired a ‘farewell’ meeting of the provincial cabinet in Peshawar.

KP CM Khan wrote a proper summary to Governor for the dissolution of assembly.

He said that he would follow the policy of PTI chairman Imran Khan and dissolve the provincial assembly.

He said that he would follow the policy of PTI chairman Imran Khan and dissolve the provincial assembly.

KP chief minister said that his party would secure two-third majority in the KP elections.

Mahmood Khan said that he has dissolved the assembly to fulfill the announcement of PTI chief Imran Khan.
