Suicide bomber responsible for Islamabad blast identified

The suicide bomber in the Islamabad terrorism case has been identified.

Investigators are looking for two suspects from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Rawalpindi who assisted him in travelling to the capital and detonating an explosive device on December 23.

According to sources familiar with the investigation, the suicide bomber had two facilitators:

one who brought him to Islamabad on December 23 and another who was present in Rawalpindi when he received the suicide vest.

As per the investigation, the suicide bomber travelled from Karak to Mardan.

He spent the night there with one of the facilitators before continuing on to Swabi.

And there they took a car to the Pirwadhai bus terminal in Rawalpindi.

It has not yet been determined whether they had a suicide jacket ready to detonate, as doing so would be extremely risky and dangerous.

According to the sources:

The bomber also called and spoke with someone after arriving in Pirwadhi.

Leading them to believe that there was another facilitator nearby the Rawalpindi bus terminal who brought the bomber the jacket.

According to sources, the man with whom the bomber had spoken was responsible for putting together the suicide jacket.

The bomber’s four fingers were discovered among the bomber’s remains discovered earlier at the crime scene by investigators.

According to sources, forensic experts were successful in cleaning the little finger and extracting fingerprints that allowed him to be identified.

The information obtained from the fingerprints was also found on a Sim found nearby.

According to sources, Saqibuddin, 22, a native of the Kurram district of KP, was the suicide bomber.

As per Sources:

Meanwhile, a man who threatened terrorism by posting a video of the Parliament Building from the Margalla Hills on social media has been detained.

The arrest was made with the assistance of intelligence agencies.

According to sources, the detained person had ties to Pakistan’s illegal Tehreek-i-Taliban (TTP).
