Three Judges elevated to Supreme Court taking oath on Friday

ISLAMABAD: Three judges elevated to the Supreme Court will be taking oath Friday as President Arif Alvi accorded approval to their names.

In a statement, the President’s Secretariat said Dr Alvi has approved the appointment of Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Athar Minallah, Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi of the Sindh High Court (SHC), and Lahore High Court’s (LHC) Justice Shahid Waheed in the Supreme Court.

According to the statement, the President has also approved the name of Justice Aamir Farooq as the IHC’s new chief justice.

President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi approved the appointment of the judges to the apex court under Article 175A of the Constitution.
