govt seeks civil-Armed forces help to rescue thousands of stranded tourists in murree

Officials said that an estimated 125,000 vehicles have entered the city so far, causing traffic jam on roads. Therefore, the administration has decided to close all the roads leading to Murree.

MURREE: The federal government has sought help from the civil-armed forces to evacuate hundreds of stranded tourists in Murree on urgent basis.

Countless tourists have stuck up in traffic jam caused by heavy snowfall in Murree and they were facing great difficulties in finding safe places in this famous tourist report.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed has shared his message on Twitter, informing the stranded tourists that the civil and armed forces personnel would carry out a rescue operation in Murree to evacuate the stranded tourists.

Interior Minister has pointed out that despite their 12-hour efforts, they could not restore traffic in Murree as a large number of vehicles have entered the tourist hub. 

He said that he was personally overseeing the issue while federal and Punjab governments were also monitoring the situation and planning rescue strategies.

Interior Minister further said that thousands of tourists were left stranded on the roads and streets in the chilling weather. He also urged the local people to help the tourists.

He said that Malka-e-Kohsar road was closed due to heavy snowfall.

The administration has warned the people neither to leave their homes in severe weather nor rush to Murree because of critical weather conditions.

Thousands of Tourists reach Murree

In the last couple of days, continuous snowfall has been been reported in Murree as thousands of tourists are heading towards the tourists resort to enjoy snowfall.

Officials said that an estimated 125,000 vehicles have entered the city so far, causing traffic jam on roads. Therefore, the administration has decided to close all the roads leading to Murree.

At present, thousands of tourists, including women and children, have been trapped on the roads in Murree and rescue efforts were underway.
