LAHORE: Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar and Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi have decided to further strengthen the PTI-PML-Q alliance to jointly contest upcoming local government elections in Punjab province.
Chief Minister Punjab and Speaker Punjab Assembly decided this in a meeting held in Lahore on Jan 3,, 2022. Speaker Punjab Assembly Pervez Elahi and Federal Minister for Water Resources Chaudhry Moonis Elahi met Chief Minister Usman Buzdar at the CM Office. In this meeting both the leaders decided to jointly work for giving relief to the masses and strengthening further their parties alliance to participate in the LG polls in the province.
Worth noting is that PML-Q leader Chaudhary Pervez Elahi earlier stated that his party could go solo in the coming local bodies elections in Punjab instead of fielding joint candidates with the PTI.
However, in meeting the Punjab chief minister said the PTI had the best working relationship with the PML-Q and the consultation with the party on important issues would continue.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Amir Jan and Secretary Punjab Assembly Muhammad Khan Bhatti were also present in the meeting.
Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar said that his government would early completion of the welfare projects in the province.
